Notes: June 09 - Rosemary is improving in school and is now beginning to read and write. She is a curious child who asks lots of questions in class which is seen as very encouraging. She interacts well with he classmates and enjoys playacting and laughing. She has progressed from KG2 to P1 August 08 - Rosemary is in KG2. Although she is a slower learner, she tries her best and is making improvements in her schoolwork. She loves being given the opportunity to be creative and use crayons. She loves interacting with the volunteers and loves attention. Her parents are teenagers , her mum was 10 when she got pregnant and her father was 14. |

Notes: June 09 - Rashid is showing himself to be a very smart child who is very involved in class. He is a happy boy who enjoys playing football with his friends. He has started reading his first book and excels in Environmental Studies. His favourite pastime is taking photographs with volunteer's cameras and he also enjoys singing and dancing. He has progressed from KG1 to KG2. August 08 - Rashid is in KG1. He is a smart energetic child. He is quick to engage with the volunteers and he is good at sports. Notes: June 09 - Patience still seems to struggle with learning which continues to frustrate her and results in her being easily distracted in class. She can write the majority of the letters of the alphabet and numbers and is getting special help from volunteers to help her practice these skills. Patience is a social girl and enjoys making friends, singing, and dancing. She also enjoys the attention and company of volunteers. She remained in KG2 for an additional year however it is hoped that she will be eligible to progress to P1 this year. August 08 - Patience is in KG2. She is a slow learner and this frustrates her which leads to her getting in a lot of trouble. She needs additional help to get her on par with her classmates and will definitely benefit from the additional teachers and learning materials this site will enable. She thrives on attention from the volunteers. |

Notes: June 09 - Nelson is a quick learner and can write the letters of the alphabet and also the numbers from one to ten. He is good at expressing himself in English and seems to be making headway with the language. Nelson enjoys playing sports on the field in the afternoons and has plenty of friends at school. Notes: August 2010 - Prince will be starting in Nursery this September. While he will be older than most of the children it is important that he starts here as he has no English yet. He is the only child of his parents. He was born to very young parents and therefore has been lacking in care by them. His parents are now divorced and Prince currently stays with his mum who is unemployed with no skill. His dad is a peasant farmer. He will continue to live with his mum while he is schooled at Christ School and Orphanage. Raymond will continue to monitor the home situation to ensure that he is well cared for. |

Notes: June 09 - Delight has grown out of her shyness and is now very social. She enjoys socialising with her peers during class even though it disturbs the other students as well as the teacher. Delight likes playing games and telling stories to her friends and is always the centre of attention. She progressed from KG1 to KG2. August 08 - Addo is in KG1. She is a very shy girl and it takes time to build her trust but once you do she becomes animated. She enjoys sitting with you and looking through a book. |

Notes: September 09 - Robert is in P2. He was one of the first children who started at Christ Orphanage. When Robert and his sister Delight moved in with their grandmother, they were sent to public school as their grandmother lives very close to the public school. Robert is a brilliant, hard working boy but has now fallen behind in class. He is repeating P2 during this academic year. Robert enjoys playing sports, singing, and playing the drums. |

Notes: August 09 - Mawunyo has now adjusted to school and is more than obviously happy there. She is learning her letters, numbers, and shapes and is making progress in class. She is still a little shy but as she gets used to you she lights up when given attention. She is an absolute sweetheart to be around and has a heart melting smile. She remained in Nursery for an additional year but it is hope that she will progress to KG1 this year. August 08 - Mawunyo is in Nursery. She was deserted by her mother so is a new but young addition to Christ. For this reasons she is not a happy child at the moment. It is hard to get her involved in class but she is slowly learning her rhymes and songs. She is very cute and while she is shy she welcomes and warms to attention. She lives with her Grandmother, her mum who is known to live in the capital Accra sent her there. |

Notes: June 09 - Jonathan continues to be one of the favorites of the volunteers who visit Christ. He is a brilliant boy who enjoys school. He actively participates in class and can write some of the letters and numbers. Jonathan can express himself in English and communicates well with the other students and teachers. Although he suffers from Rickets, he does not let his disability get in the way as he enjoys dancing and playing kick ball with the volunteers. He progressed from Nursery to KG1 and it is hoped he will progress to KG2 this year. August 08 - Jonathan is in Nursery. He is one of the favorites of every volunteer that passes through Christ. He suffers terribly from Rickets which has left him with bowed legs. This disability makes him much slower than all the other kids but he manages everyday with a huge smile on his face. His brother Maurice looks out for him at all times but he has many friends in school. He is both smart and funny and while he can't keep up with the others playing soccer he loves to play catch with one of the rugby balls (they're nearly bigger than him!). He loves to both sing and dance. A past volunteer is investigating the feasibility of an operation for him to fix his legs. He is on vitamin tablets with a view to getting him into a position where an operation is viable. |
